Why Is It Dangerous
How to stop smoking is one of the questions that many people think about, because smoking is considered as addictive as most illegal drugs, and many who have tried to quit believe that this is one of the most difficult problems that they “constantly confronted Orchestra!
But it is certainly not an impossible task, because many former smokers successfully join the ranks each year can attest. To stop smoking may be difficult, but it can be done!
Then how can we say that this is really dangerous to “try” to stop smoking? Consider the following facts:
The first step for almost anyone who wants to stop smoking is to make up your mind that this is what we are doing - period. There is a famous line in the first “Star Wars” movie where the Jedi master Yoda said simply, «Do, or do not. There is no ‘try’. ” It sounds a little silly, but many people who need to make substantial changes in their life - losing weight, keeping a budget, being able to stop smoking - they found those words very useful.
I would say that going to “try” to do something that leaves open for the failures. Infact, you are trying to do this thing, you are not really doing. It may sound confusing, but there is a difference.
A useful tool for many of the coaches and psychologists when counseling those who want to stop smoking is, they must tell themslves that they are either smokers or they are not. Someone who is a non-smoker does not need “trying” to quit, he or she just does not smoke, nothing more and nothing less.
Again, it may seem elementary, but it’s something that works for many people. The idea of thinking that they are non-smokers does not give them any option to smoke. Just look at your many non-smoking friends - do thay think about whether or not they want to have morning cagarette, or whether they intend to light up while sitting in a bar with you? Chances are the answer is no, they just do not slmoke, nothing more, nothing less.
For what may seem to you a very casual, and maybe even a little ridiculous way of thinking, that you should not “trying” to stop smoking, but you need to replace the concept of “trying” with “doing” . You must think that you are either smokers or not. Once you take away your word “trying” you will realizes that you have removed the option of failing, and this may be the key to the success, once and for all stop smoking.
